“The Trump Letter” Project

In my essay earlier this week, I mentioned that the silhouette of Donald Trump used in two of my poster designs came from Frank Artinghard’s project, “The Trump Letter”. After I got a shout out from Mr. Artinghard on Instagram this week, I realized I should give his project some more attention with a dedicated post.

The premise is that letters, unlike online petitions and email, take up physical space, so an increase of incoming letters lets people know the spirit of resistance is alive.

I have personally sent copies of “The Trump Letter” (along with an actual letter) to all cabinet level roles, in some cases more than once, but I’m a stationary and mail geek. The task can be a little daunting. Mr. Artinghard has a couple resources that make it a little easier (lists of addresses, address label templates), but you still have to print and fold letters.

Trump’s cabinet is comprised of sycophants like few I’ve seen before. If you were inclined to send only a few letters, this might be the priority I would go with:

  • JD Vance, Vice President
  • Susie Wiles, White House Chief of Staff
  • Marco Rubio, Secretary of State
  • Pam Bondi, Attorney General
  • Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House

If you are not of a sign waving disposition, but feel like you want to contribute to resisting Trump’s leadership (or lack thereof), “The Trump Letter” could be the ticket for you.

Thanks again, Frank!
